If you have an Iphone it looks like the main thing to do is stick with your Safari browser for now hoping that Apple does a fast update. As for me, were I using an Iphone I'd do exactly that and maybe for now just limit web browsing and stop using free wifi until they solve this.
Google should be able to solve their risk quickly on the browser and if you have a Chromebook and only use the guest option when browsing it is probably the safest way to go. I do that anyway unless I need to log into a google account.
Surivival Compound method: use purpose dedicated equipment. A chromebook for surfing, an apple for design, and windows for whatever else.

Cold Weather Survival - Long Term

I read this and it brought me back to some memories of time in the field where it seemed every moment in your thoughts was the pain and misery of being cold. Either your feet hurt or you were shivering and often both. The thing you learn is that your body isn't designed for extreme temps and that clothing is your shelter if you don't have shelter. With that in mind find the best shelter you can get. Money isn't the main factor in getting it either.
One thing I suggest is to look for military surplus clothing that includes an outer shell of a water repellent breathing material. Get at least one size larger than you would normally wear and maybe two sizes because you're going to want many layers underneath. If you can only find woodland or camouflage versions of this consider not having it as your final outer layer but instead having something less conspicuous over it in a neutral color. Of course in the snow even a sheet with stretch ties will do or a ski jacket shell.
Interior clothing is best to have air pockets and you can find wool it is one of the best ways to stay warm even when damp. Newer synthetics are lighter and wick better so this is an option.
Against your skin you might best go with water drawing material that is permeable so that you don't build up a water layer against your skin. I stay away from cotton unless it is for comfort like flannel and I'm ready to remove it if it gets wet. Flannel pajamas work well for an under layer beneath oversized pants like Khaki designs. You can still add water repellent pants. If you do this make sure you wear underwear under that to reduced the need to wash it as often. In a shtf scenario this will make you feel cleaner if you can change out undergarments.
Get some waterproof and heavy insulated boots. You can find these for $50 at Wally World and though you may not want to travel any distance in these they are superb for saving your feet against wet and cold.
There are many other ways to survive the elements and these are just my personal methods so do your research but whatever you do spend some time putting together your cold weather kit.

Licking China's Boots - The Future?

You can thank Nixon for opening up China to the West. You can thank Reagan for an amnesty that may yet be repeated. You can thank Carter for giving away many assets and reducing our position in the Middle East. You can thank Clinton for selling off industry and weapons technology to China for campaign donations. A lot of that technology has made it to North Korea. You can thank both Bushes for sitting on their hands and giving away industry while giving access to our markets while we were losing jobs and frozen out of many foreign ports. You can thank Obama for his boot licking bow to everyone he could outside the USA while simultaneously stomping his high heels on American dissent. He gave away everything he could legally and illegally while still avoiding impeachment and prison. Iran found his cash payments very helpful in the furtherance of international terrorism. Trump at least is the first President in modern history to act as if he has our interests in mind.
Sadly it may be too late for our country to do anything but try to avoid collapse thanks for the fools in congress and our various presidents that gave away all our advantages and paid borrowed cash to other countries in the form of aid. Wasteful military adventures finished the job or almost finished it. We're still in Afghanistan almost twenty years later with no end in sight unless we just leave.
China has plans and those plans are to assume the hegemonic role once held by Pax Americana. As bad as we've handled it you can expect that a communist state with global sway will not be pleasant for many Western Countries. Many previously hostile countries to the USA may yet wish they had chosen our team, team USA.
What to do: Get your stomach ready for some embarrassing moments in the future as US prestige continues to decline despite the efforts to bring it back. It looks as if the die is cast on this decline so the only thing seemingly possible is to avoid catastrophe. Even that may only be a prelude to WW3.
Rule number one is protect yourself and live a good life if possible.
