Intentional Ammo Shortage

DHS Attempting to control the ammo supply in the USA.    I spoke to a member of the emergency response community about this the other day and he became visibly agitated.  The conversation started when someone else mentioned the ammo shortage and put forth his idea that it was intentional as part of the current administration's plan to reduce access to firearms.

I know there is a group mindset to any organization, but I was not prepared for the anger that came from an individual that I knew to be generally friendly.  Whatever the case is, I found it interesting that even discussing the possibility of such a thing was repugnant to him.

The fact is that tremendous orders for ammunition for the DHS to train happens to coincide with this shortage.  Since when do you train with hollow point?
