He makes some good points and the best one of all is the idea that going solo means you will get a lot less sleep most likely.

I remember a saying we had in the barracks as a reminder not to piss off your buddies.  "We all gotta sleep sometime."

And if you pissed someone off they might wear your head out with a pipe while you were and now are staying in La La Land.

As a suggestion.  If you have a family they can be your fire team/security backup that is much more reliable than just meeting up with strangers.   Any meetups post SHTF are fraught with risk.  Even those beforehand might still lead to surprises.
