Practice Guns/ Dummy Guns - They sell these specifically to practice handling and trigger pull practice. I've used a number of them and used them to the point where the mechanism broke. Rather than spending the money on that you might consider just getting a BB gun with a pistol design that also has a realistic trigger.
My favorite is the Daisy 980415-242 Hunting Air Pistol. You can find these online or at your local Wal Mart. The nice thing about this Co2 pistol is that not only does it work for dry fire but it is great for inexpensive simulated live fire practice. It fits a holster for many full size semi-auto handguns and holsters for the HK P30 fit very well. BB gun practice using draw and fire while engaging multiple targets can be done safely in places that you couldn't use for live ammunition.

The one main problem I have with this article is that it mentions that Abe is getting pressure from home on Trump's immigration policy and it is just left to hang there. The writer either doesn't know or doesn't want the reader to know that Japan has a very strict immigration policy that wouldn't likely allow any of the refugees. Correct me if I'm wrong and check this yourself but Japan has a policy of not allowing immigration.

Storing Bandages for Survival and Long Term Storage
If you load up on adhesive bandages most come in boxes that are great for display but not for storage. They take up a lot of space and are not waterproof. Instead, how about repackaging them in plastic bags. Here is a before and after photo of reducing down the space taken for bandages and protecting them from moisture, water damage, and insects.
I separated the bandages into two different bags to go for redundancy. One, I located in the main structure, my home, and another in an outbuilding so in the event of fire or other disaster in a post SHTF event I wouldn't be totally out of supplies.
Before Photo - lots of boxes that won't pack well and won't lay flat.
After photo - half the space and sealed in plastic.
I even had room for one box in each to be used as a refillable dispenser.
Bandages seem to age when exposed to normal environmental conditions in a bathroom where things can be more humid, so finding an alternative location to place a supply is a an approach that makes sense. Buy more bandages regularly to keep up a fresh supply and also to make sure you cycle out some of the older ones as needed.

Coffee - Get some to keep you going in hard times
I know some people think they should abstain from caffeine and that is their right. Though some recent health research shows that it might be a wash or even a benefit to drinking coffee, there are always downsides to anything taken in excess.
If you have acid reflux problems or just heartburn when drinking coffee then consider Kava instant found at many grocery stores. It is acid reduced to the point where you don't even need to cut it with milk or creamer to avoid the acid burn of many types of coffee.
Though I like making coffee I find myself drinking instant most of the time due to the rush of the day. Keeping a bottle of instant in the car can provide a low cost drink and lift to keep you going and avoiding the calories and cost of a Latte or some other fancy drink, or worse yet a greasy burger that you probably don't need to add to your paunch.
Coffee is everywhere for now though the price has increased of late. If you like it set some aside for the rainy days that may be coming. Instant has another advantage in that it is freeze dried which of course is the magic approach used for long term storage. Of course they probably don't add the nitrogen preservation but it still is good for years under almost all conditions. Only one thing I'd recommend is to avoid excessive heat. Store the bottles in a shaded shed or wherever the temps don't cause it to solidify. I've had some Maxwell House instant do that and I must assume it was heat and some moisture that got into it. It also became bitter, but that still didn't prevent me from using it.
If you are into brand name coffee you might give this brand a try. I think I will. I just like the name.

Survival Food: Kippers for Medium Term Storage - Smoked Herring
Kippers are a great source of protein, fat, and calcium. The oil that most of the canned fish come in is a great source of calories that can help you survive in a calorie starved environment like food shortages. Because of the means of preservation sodium is often high but in a stressful and heavy exercise environment that can be a plus.
The brand I use is Trader Joe's but they are probably sourced from one of the major brands just like their Sardines.
Yesterday, I tried a can that was dated for use by 2013. It is now 2017. I opened it, put it to my nose, and looked at it. It looked the same as it would have two or five years earlier. I detected no sign of spoilage so it became my breakfast along with a British Muffin. It tasted fine and a day later I had no ill effects as I fully expected. I have never gotten ill from canned food, ever. Of course I've thrown out some when I opened it and something didn't look or smell right and of course any can that was puffy or leaking would be included in that throw out category.
Since I buy these freshly canned and they usually have two or three years of time before the expiration date I got six or more years of storage and likely I could go much further down the road with these. Instead, I just rotate them out by eating them prior to expiration and buy some new ones. I just happened to miss the dates on the one shown and the one I ate yesterday. It was no big deal to me since I've done this many times before with sardines and other canned items. I'm not suggesting that you do the same but it is good to know that this type of food can endure years in storage.
Try some if you never have. If you like them add some regularly to your food storage. These to me are much more palatable than freeze dried food and of course are a lot less expensive for the equivalent amount of high quality protein and fat that stores for a long time.
