He makes some good points since most of us learned to use the sights first or at the same time.  Now to improve most shooters use dry fire, training guns, and laser targets for low cost training.  This video is an interesting approach.  Unfortunately, many students don't want to put in the time necessary to master trigger control and then just put in a few hours of training to learn the basics of safety and how to shoot it.
