What Food to Store Now for an emergency

This is a useful list with some good ideas.  I think canned protein is especially important to widen our your food storage program.  Carbs are easy.  Fats are easy.  Protein has to be looked at as the essential and hard to obtain mainstay of long term health during emergencies whether they last two days or two months.  Powdered cheese is another category that I rarely see but think has a side benefit of adding taste to recipes.  Parmesan stores at room temps for long periods of time and adds great taste as well as calcium, some fat, and protein.

Also consider whey protein and soy protein.  Both store well enough that you can set aside an extra container of each as you go through the open container for smoothies and other recipes.
