If you need examples of what corruption does to take down a country you only have to look at Venezuela.  Mexico comes to mind as well since corruption is part of the culture. Greece shows what corruption in the form of looting the treasury to pay ridiculous pensions and never thinking the debt would come due.  Puerto Rico looks to be on the list as well.

Who knows.  We hear this every few months when the left wants to scare city dwellers into supporting more Federal intervention and Federalization of the police.  As it goes though, is it any surprise when citizens in distant places from Washington get sick and tired of meddling in their lives while financial resources of the country are directed toward illegal aliens and foreign countries.  Meanwhile, those who are the most productive in the country are seen as simple caretakers of their wealth until it can be stripped from them and used for more Federal priorities.

This is all about things that might happen billions of years from now so we really don't have to worry about any of it except maybe an asteroid strike.  That scenario may be something we can't do anything about until technology allows us to detect and divert them. 

So here is  my plan.  If an asteroid is detected that is headed for Earth and may be an extinction level event I'll probably take all my money out of the bank and head to the nearest Go Go bar for a wild drinking spree.  When the money runs out I'll pull out the credit cards and rack them up.  Unfortunately, if no extinction event occurs I'll be on the hook for all the debt, so in truth I'd be rooting for the Asteroid strike at that point.  Take your own approach, but there is mine.

This may be true or not true, and it's hard to prove or disprove.  What we do know is that food costs are up and income is down.  Just as important is that huge numbers of Americans are now getting food stamps.

According to this we are the unhappiest people in the world.  Since we have been responsible for policing the world and paying for that maybe we should be unhappy.  Add to that an ongoing attack on our way of life and I can agree with this article.

In the realm of reality the number of jobless is a fraud, but claims can be tracked since that has a paper trail and a definable element called claims.  The real number of unemployed is hidden by massaging the way they are counted.  The real unemployment number is probably closer to 20%.  This is just an educated guess based on how much I know the government fudges most numbers.

The run across the border is building as economic collapse builds South of the border.  So much is going on to bring disunity and discomfort to Americans.  This is one of the worst things of all where an alien invasion displaces hard working Americans also taking benefits, housing, and jobs.  Speaking of fudging numbers I think the number of illegals in the USA is probably well over 20 or 30 million where our official quoted number is around 11 million.  That number is just pure BS.

If you don't want so called extremist groups don't allow extremist groups to have sway over government.  For instance there are plenty of Muslim and Hispanic groups that have what a reasonable person might call extremist views and objectives such as creating a caliphate in the USA or retaking the Southwest for Mexico.  These groups get government funding and are protected while a group with a Viking God name is considered much worse.  I question the whole arguments of who is deciding what an extremist group is and who gets to decide.  Bottom line:  we are setting ourselves up for heartache as groups are formed.

Look, you can't spend all your time fighting off the hordes, growing food, and keeping your house in order when the collapse comes.  You need some mental stimulus and play to round out your day so here is a list of things you might want to plan to do when there is no reason to go to work and you have long days of nothing to do.

Self Education in the Classical Style
If you couldn't afford to get a classical education then join the rest of us that had to look for something that actually guaranteed a paycheck like accounting, business, or a trade.  This can be a long term project you can stop and start anytime.  If you started now and the collapse comes along you could finish out your education while others spend their time gnashing their teeth.

Practice Open Hand Self Defense
Why break your fingers when you can learn to fight with an open hand.  The other benefit of this is that you always appear less threatening with open hands than closed fists.  It is an art form and can be used for exercise.

Collect Old Commodes
Imagine if you have a thing for old commodes.  This is a must have and it would look so good among your survival collection as well.   Olive drab commode for a tactical look.

Set up a backyard badminton court 
You can also use it for croquet, calisthenics,  martial arts, and even a rough putting green.  Sports are a great way to relieve stress and also help cure boredom.  This is one of the cheapest sports you can get into.  You can find a set at the flea market for $5 or pay $25 for a new one.

If you have no neighbors and lots of land some just hang some old frying pans off tree branches and enjoy the noise.  Whatever you do, don't use this approach with live ammo.  Archery is fun too if you have the proper backstop.  Absent lots of safe area behind your range, I'd set one up in the basement with the proper backstops. (warning to fools, never do this with live ammo and always wear eye protection.

Take Naps
Improvement of your health ranks high in survival and what better way than to get some extra sleep during the day.  I do this myself whenever I have the time.

How can you take a country from the top tier of economic performance and quality of life and reduce it to a third world pauper with the accompanying unrest.  One good way is to flood the country with near voting age and military age young men and women who do not share the values of the new host country.   Deportations plummet.

Not Children 

They call them children but these children are close to combat age and they are eligible for benefits that exceed those earned by retirees on social security.  The last fact alone should be good cause for unrest, but the leaders also know that they can find a complicit media that will avoid reporting these facts.

Net Effect 

The overall net effect of this operation is going to be a loss of culture and one that more closely resembles that of the country these future voters came from.  If you want a clear example just look to California where a huge percentage of the population is not native or from the previous dominant white culture.  It has become a socialist paradise complete with severe spending versus revenue problems.  The tax rates in CA are now high enough that many high income working people are leaving if they can, and the state takes a cut even after you leave unless you can prove you've fully left the state. 

Replace the Citizens with Pliant Supplicants

With the Calif. model you can see that the chance of a conservative free market Republican winning any state wide or national office have just about disappeared.  This happened only a short 40 years since an amnesty for illegals and an ongoing flood of anchor babies becoming voting age foreign voters with an American citizenship.

Latino Protestors threaten Americans

Here you have citizens who are faced with threats by simply exercising their right to assemble and perform a civic duty.  They are threatened by non-citizens and those fronting for them.  In the end this may work against the protestors but it also shows how brazen they have become as their numbers have increased.  Expect more violence and more intimidation by these groups intent on taking what they perceive as their right to retake America.

What can you do.

Vote to keep your conscience clear so you at least have tried the right way, the civil way to move the country in the right direction.  Knowing that this won't really likely protect you from what is coming do the smart thing and hedge your bets.

Get out of Dodge while you still can.  This simply means relocating to a place where a less dense population exists so that you won't have to run if things cut loose.  One option is a Bug Out Planet.  Just kidding.

Put away food.  Use common sense and put away as much short term, medium term, and long term storage food as you can.  Learn to grow food as a survival skill.

Protect your water supply.  Have a well, have a cistern, and have stored water along with top notch filtration.

Store money in the form of precious metals and other hard assets such as arable land, guns, ammo, vehicles, and solar capability.

Train for your life.  Condition yourself for foot travel with cargo on your back.  Train in armed self defense, stick training,  and if you are fit unarmed self defense.

Stay informed.  Follow infowars, drudge, foreign press, various survival blogs, financial news.
