Ticks: how to treat bites

Are ticks winning?

The treatment advice in this article is interesting and worth consideration.  I don't believe a shower will wash off any tick.  They are very good at hanging on for dear life and if attached you're not going to brush them off or wash them off.  They have to be pulled off preferably with tweezers.
