Go pre-electric grid on at least part of your planning.

Matches
Magnesium
Butane Lighters
Lighter fluid and standard wick lighters
Charcoal Lighter Fluid

Light
Oil Lamps
Lamp Oil
Candles
Batteries and Flashlights - Hoping they will work. (Electric but not grid dependent)
Solar charger for batteries
Rechargeable batteries - (eneloop)

Heat And Cooking
Propane Heater - Little Buddy or Big Buddy - and a basic wall mount gas heater that doesn't rely on electricity.
Propane cook stove
Propane tanks.

Kerosene heater
Kerosene

Wood Stove
Wood

Kettle Style Charcoal Barbecue
Charcoal Briquets

Open Pit Barbecue
Wood and Charcoal Briquets

Water
Lots of stored Water - in gallon bottles
Bodies of Water Nearby - swimming pool, stream, drainage ditch, and ponds.
Water Filter -gravity fed

Food
Lots of Food
Canned, Dried, and packaged for non refrigeration.
