You need to think about things before you do them.  Rather than walking over to a noisy party and getting a beat down it is best to either call the police or get your headphones on.  If you choose to live in a multicultural environment and expect the alternate cultures to respect your views you are living in a different time.  Your best bet is to avoid any confrontations or even the chance you could be challenging their  perceived superior cultural values.

As a final aside I'd like to know if the woman who was attacked felt safe because she was a left wing adherent and thought that was protection, or maybe she just had no situational awareness or both.  I would never do what she did if for no other reason than to avoid creating enemies.  Hopefully she will recover without too many long term effects.

As for the fine young gentleman that happily helped her into the pool, well he was probably an honor student headed for medical school, or so the narrative will go.
