Flu Season Risk

10% effective vaccines

What this means for most of us whether we get the vaccine or not is to avoid places where we are likely to be exposed.  I tend to stop eating out during the flu season and just pack meals for times when I might normally eat out.

Another thing is using every opportunity to wash or clean your hands especially after touching a gas pump handle, door handle, or even a pen at a doctor's office.  It all has the same potential to pass along enough virus to take you down.

Going into public places such as movie theaters, classrooms, and wherever else large groups congregate is especially risky so good luck if you have no choice.

Hand sanitize every chance you get when you can't be near a place to wash your hands.  I carry baby wipes in the car.  They don't have antibacterials on them but do help clean your hands and can remove enough of the pathogens to cut your risk.
