I don't think you can contemplate survival in a full collapse without these listed below first.

Shelter - big car, shed, condo, or home
All Season Clothing
Water Source - stream or well that you can operate without power
Food Storage - Contemplate your needs
Weapons for Self Defense - and the skills to use them

Later, now that you have the things needed to actually exist you can start your plan for making through the time when your food runs out.  You do this by actually knowing how to grow food and having a place to do it.  As for the rest, if you can live without a phone or cable you are half the way there.  Think food, water, shelter, and protection.  It is all any caveman needed to get through to the end of their short lives with time enough to raise some progeny.
