This is an amazing story but also gives you the idea that the essentials of life are down to physical comfort to some extent but also companionship of some kind whether human or animal.  Beyond that much of what we consider living is just static and distraction.  Keep this in mind when you set your plans for surviving whatever comes our way.  A roof, food, water, and climate control in the form of heat during the cold is all you need to stay alive.  To live beyond that is to somehow find contentment with whatever it is that represents your life.
