Avoiding the Flu and other contagion during the winter

During the winter I eat nothing that doesn't come out of a bag, box, bottle, or microwave.

If you go to restaurants you can be sure of getting exposure to whatever the employees have who are preparing the meal.

If you refrigerate your food and cook it in a microwave or steam it you can at least limit your exposure risk to airborne and contact contamination.

When you pump gas use some moistened wipes to clean your hands before you drive away.  Even baby wipes can help with this and they are cheaper than the antibacterial treated ones.

Get plenty of sleep and sunlight.

Contrary to conspiracy theories I still go with a Flu shot every year if available.  I usually wait until late October or even late November since I have read that the strength of the protection is greatest for only a few months and we know January, February, and March are the worst for Flu.

Wash your hands after touching anything in public like a door knob or handle.  Carry wipes or those little sanitation bottles.

Using this method I have avoided serious colds and the Flu for years.  Of course all that means is that something else is working on me but that is the way it is for all of us.

The purpose here is to avoid physical pain and also the loss of income associated with getting a Flu.
