Book Review - The Disaster Diaries

The Disaster Diaries
How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Apocalypse
By Sam Sheridan
Copyright 2013
324 Pages - Hardback

Sheridan did a great job on this book. What he accomplished was to create a journal of his daily effort and lifestyle that focused on preparing for the apocalypse and survival.  He interposes stories of practical training in survival skills with fictional fantasies that allow him to keep your attention and also implement some of the skills he has acquired.  One of the best insights gained from this book is his realization that many of us have come to when pursuing the art of survival and that is not to overdo it to the exclusion of friends, family, job, and conventional pleasures.  He learns and confirms that following the survival lifestyle to the exclusion of living a full life with normal desires will destroy rather than save your life.  This is the subject of the last chapter of the book and it serves to tie together all you learn in the early parts.   This is a great book to learn about learning to survive.
