Life in a Country of Sheep and Nannies

If you read the article about how a man in Australia protects his landlady from a man with a knife to her throat you'd think you were in an alternate universe.  How can any country with a population of intelligent people decide that the right to self defense no longer applies.  In addition the right to defend the life of another is now put in question as the nannies in charge of this forlorn country now get to second guess the decision made by a man with intent to protect someone.

Read it here yourself.  Murder trial of NSW man.

As for me.  I'd rather live a place where weapons are plentiful and the right to defend yourself is a acknowledged in law.  We have places here in the USA that are like that for now.  If you want to live like they do in Britain and Australia just move to New Jersey or Maryland.

Here are some examples of how things should go.

Washington D.C.  - This one surprised me since it is D.C.

Texas - No indication the defender would be charged.

Florida - Robber dead and no talk of charging the homeowner.

Alabama - Liquor store robber shot.  No talk of charging the store owner.

Meanwhile an article says that gun crime has plunged while perceptions are that it is higher than ever.
The authors of the study can't understand the disconnect and seem reluctant to blame the media but that is clearly what the problem is on this issue.  The endless harping about gun crime as if guns commit the crimes rather than maybe calling it shootings just as if a knife attack would be called a stabbing.  Using the term gun violence has it's own special meaning to the media intent on pushing for gun confiscation.   This is called agitation propaganda.
